Reversed Polarity Battery Hookup

While making battery replacements for my Rail King trains, I accidentally connected one that had a reverse polarity to my GGI with PS2. I put the GG1 on the track and gave it some power, but it only buzzed. What is the likely damage I caused?

Does the board still draw current?? did you reverse the polarity back to normal, please show a photo of the board ps 2 is it a ps2 3-volt or ps 2 5-volt board what is your engine item number 30 -! is this close to you're item engine number! 30-2592-1 Etc!
