Ed,
I have thought of this. One would hope that some will pick up where he left off and buy the masters from his family. I would be willing to do that myself, I retire in 8 years, it might me a neat side line of work for me.

I have dealt with Lou a few times and I have the need for more stuff soon. I sure hope someone will take over when he decides to stop.
I have seen a few of his items on ebay. Just might grab them while I can.

I do not understand why so many of you get upset because someone new believes that a business would be easier for a new person to find if they have a WEBSITE. I am entitled to express that opinion and believe it to be true. I APOLOGISE that some of you have gotten your tidy widies in a wad. I have nothing against Lou and I have not said one thing negative about him!!!!! If wishing he had a website so he would be easier to find is negative. Than heaven forbid what are you guys going to come up with next.
Thanks for the photos CWEX of his products - looks to be very good, which I may consider purchasing in the near future. Thanks again. We need more like you.
As for the rest of the posters such as Tom and Buzz remarks, I will not respond as this thread was civil down to Christopher's response to my post about posting some more of his gorgious layout!
PS: I do not make spelling mistakes - they are typos!
PSS: If you have to have a name than call me George, as at times my wife does or you can call me honey if you feel the need.
nw2124 "Progress - either you are for it, or get out the way!"... SLR
yea I think this could have died as soon as Lou's contact info was given out.
Welcome to the OGR Forum....and welcome to the most dramatic O scale forum out there
Bob 2 please tell me what trucks you have in your picture of the UP PA and Sleeper on page one of this thread? They look like early City trucks and I need some. Thanks Ed
Okay, honey - I think you started whatever is going on here.
Ed - yeah, aren't those nice? Dennis has my best master, and a mold made out of very, very expensive non-shrink dental mold stuff. I have no idea of their origin, but I started out with a couple of good castings and Dennis did the rest. My string of eight UP cars is half these and half Wasatch. I love these older UP streamline trucks.
Here's what I had to say on another forum;
Anyone that knows Lou will naturally come to his defense. He is a real class act. I feel fortunate to be his friend. Strange how some people just make the leap of faith that modern communication devices have to be used just because they like them and that anyone not joining with their opinion should be subject to their judgment and ridicule.
Lou is 89 years old and a combat veteran of WWII. I'll bet most of his detractors (very small numbers I'm sure) will never be half the human being he's been his entire life.
It's kind of like our friend Si. He read the newspaper, watched the news, wrote letters and shunned all the new crap (he did have an answering machine though) and was perfectly content with his life. He had no need or desire to keep up with all the modern technology.
Good for both of them! They're probably a lot smarter and happier for it.
As a side note, Lou had Norm (ProtoCraft) pull his products from the website because it was causing too much confusion.
Lou will be at the Chicago show (he always goes). He's from Chicago so it's like going home again for him.
Jay
I've had the privilege to know Lou for over 20 years and he is a true gentleman in every sense of the world, one of the few left among us. Lou doesn't have a computer and therefore no web site. Lou is almost always at the Chicago and O Scale West Show, so Mr. nw2124 he is not difficult to find. Or should we call you Stephen Rineair? If you're not Stephen Rineair I apologize to Mr. Stephen Rineair. What is the purpose of most of your posts here? Do they really have a purpose?
Some time back you bashed Key Models saying their Models were incorrect in details, paint, ran poorly, etc. and then you called Dave to reserve one of the Early E units. And, NO, dave didn't tell me you you are, but you are in Cincinnati aren't you?
Why hide your true identity?
Got my stuff from Lou this week. Now the real work begins.
Yes it does....and the fun.
Does anyone have experience with Right O Way rail joiners? Are they fairly easy to use with ME 148 track?
Thanks,
Allan
Chris;
Thank you...I will give them a try.
Allan
Your welcome Allan, there is just some flash left over from the casting process that needs to be removed here and there. I am very happy with them.
This is different from Right of Way Industries from the 90s, right?
Mark,
Completely different company. Actually, Right-O-Way (Lou's) predates his ownership. The company has been around for decades and should be around for a long time.
