Hello all,

I recently purchased a wide variety of trains from an estate sale.  Lots of HO, O, S Scale etc.  But I came across a few locos that are larger than HO that I can’t figure out what scale they are or what track they run on.  On the bottom it states Rivarossi made in Italy for AHM and it’s plastic and metal.  They look highly realistic with large metal drivers and intricate side rods.  Basically I want to know what track this runs on and what power source and connections I need to run them.  I’m posting imageimageimageimageimage

The other engine is an Indiana Harbor Belt 0-8-0 sold, primarily I believe, as a kit with a separate power unit that could be added.  Without the power unit, the 0-8-0 was purely an assembled shelf queen.  To my knowledge, back in the day, neither product was very expensive, and they were built to run as 2-rail engines.

The first engine, the 4-6-0, is an AHM “Casey Jones” for two rail. Can't tell from your photos whether it's powered or not.

2nd is the IHB 0-8-0 and it looks incomplete.

So, 2 rail track, DC power.........if either is actually powered.  Neither was particularly well powered models to begin with and there are decades of info on repowering these "out there".

Fun stuff also to bash and play with, too!

Thanks for the info.  I'm unfamiliar with two rail O Gauge, I'm pretty sure the "Casey Jones" is powered.  The 0-8-0 looks to just have a weight inside of it.  I have quite a bit more of this two rail O Gauge.  Am I right to assume they are from the 70-80's?  I also have some Atlas two rail O sets that I believe are ready to run.  Do you think a standard HO DC transformer would run these?  Thanks, Dave

AHM/Rivarossi made the IHB 0-8-0 in unpowered kit form, kit form with the motor kit and a fully assembled powered locomotive. I have the complete powered factory assembled version. They also sold the separate motor kit for later applications.

They are fairly common on EBay, both complete kits and assorted parts and motorizing kits.

AHM/Rivarossi also marketed a 0-6-0 tank engine in O scale. It was a German prototype, but it came with knuckle couplers and lettering for various US railroads..

AHM O Scale hails from 1973.  Their motors were pretty much the same as their HO motors, a stadard HO pack will work fine.
