hello, I installed a BCR in this locomotive not to long ago and noticed when I ran it that when the track power is shut off while the locomotive is on it shuts off right away. Is this what happens when there is a BCR installed in them? Thank you

No sounds should always continue through the shutdown sequence.
That might indicate a bad charging portion of the circuit or just not allowing enough time to charge to the BCR, or possibly a failed BCR or wiring connection.
Ok I will let the BCR charge a little Longer. I let it sit for a minute with track power on before I start up the locomotive. Is there a way to check if the BCR is bad?
You can test a BCR (it's just a supercap or a few supercaps), using a DC bench supply.
BCR is good and seems it might be a charging circuit. Fun to run but don’t believe it is worth putting anymore money into.
