I did a search but couldn't find the answer are RMT Beef and Beep Chassis interchangeable?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
BEEF and BEEP use same chassis but BEEF application required factory modification to accept couplers and front fixed pilot.
So in a simple answer...no not easily interchangeable.

Walter leave you all alone at RMT? I'll have to talk to him about that!
The Beep and the Beef use the same chassis, with only minor alterations.
When I got my Beefs a few years ago, I wanted both units powered. At that time, the Beefs came with new electronics, allowing them to run slightly faster than the Beeps up to that point. Thus, I found two Beep units that ran at the same speed and put them into the Beef shells.
On each end of the chassis unit, you need to cut out some plastic – marked by the red lines on the left unit in the photo (an untouched Beep chassis). Then you need to drill holes for the screws that hold the chassis to the body. As you can see from the photo, one of my holes didn't line up quite right – so this unit only has three screws holding the body and chassis together.
I also moved the tether wires to the new chassis.
It's not a difficult project – it just requires a bit of patience. Had I measured properly, I probably wouldn't have had the issue with the mis-aligned holes.
By the way, I put the left over Beef chassis into a Beep used for passenger duty – so the additional speed pays off.

I don't know about all this beefing and beeping, but looking through the alphabet for logical letters available for the next product it appears it might be the BEER. I might buy a few of those!

Thanks for the information it will certainly help.
We have Beef's left at closeout pricing well below RMT's price.

While the joke is understood... there will be no "next" RMT product.

Even "retired" people can still post on the Forum.
