Hello Alan, Rich, Ed, Jim and all Forum members...

Yes RMT is back and very happy to be associated again with OGR as an advertiser. It has taken many months of hard work by the RMT staff to create these new products, have them manufactured and become a reality. The first container is already enroute and will arrive late October with shipping to customers right away.

RMT as a company will not be at October York.

For any questions about products and pricing...check the RMT website for complete and factual information.

Walter is still retired but available to guide us here at RMT as we enter this new era of RMT trains.

Thank you for your support in the past and we look forward to a bright future.

Welcome back RMT with Susie and the grandkids & retired Walter!  YES!

I bought many items from RMT over the early years and although I'm also retired, I'm not sure of my future purchases.  BUT!!... I really am looking forward to see what you have to offer.  I just may be a returning customer to see what can be squeezed out of my S.S. dollars.

RMT will certainly make you VERY happy with product availability.

...

Considering a container of product is currently enroute to RMT this month... that alone will be a refreshing change for shoppers.  Imagine seeing something you like announced on a website or in a catalog, AND IT'S ACTUALLY AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY!!!  What a novel idea!!!    I forgot what that felt like.

Perhaps you mean Christmas BEEPs not BEEFs. RMT never made a Christmas BEEF (A-A + B unit) diesel.

Did make Christmas...PEEP passenger cars, ore cars, coal hoppers, depressed center flat cars, caboose and BUDDY.

Watch RMT website for next announcement in November for incoming freight cars.

Thank you Susie, I stand corrected, at my age that happens frequently I am told.   I like the Christmas line you guys did. I ordered some of  them but somehow I never got them from the dealer.

John

Have any of you at the resurrected RMT taken a look at how the PEEP passenger cars are offered?

Historically you could only buy them in one of two configurations--in pairs with either a head-end (baggage) or tail-end (observation) car, in addition to a coach.

In my view, this artificially limited how many of these one could buy. When I was mulling getting some of these, I would have liked to have assembled a 6 or 8 car train--but not if it meant I had to have 2 or 3 baggage and observation cars in the consist.

It might be worthwhile to at least examine the possibility of offering a coach/coach set... unless the intent behind offering the PEEP cars is that end users would only  run them in four-car trains (which, seeing as these presumably were all-new body and frame tooling, seems at least somewhat counterintuitive)

The PEEP passenger car sets were actually made from K-line 18 inch heavyweight car toolings but RMT had China factory just cut the injected length to PEEP length and then add another 'end' where the cut was made.

So really no new tooling was used...just small end part.

It is all based upon cost. New tooling would mean no PEEPs.

Thanks.

BlueComet400... John F,

What pieces of track/switches are you looking for?  I bought some a while back and changed plans... looking to do an outdoor Atlas SS O gauge layout at some point, so I may have some brand new track and switches (RMT/K Line Snap Track) that would meet your needs and help my new track budget!

Contact me via email in my profile... I'll look at what I have...

Welcome back Susie and the Grand Kids and Walter...

Hope you are enjoying your retirement Walter. Susie, I had talked with Walter (and found RMT only for the 1st time) a week before Walter retired. Will look forward to seeing your future offerings. I'm a huge admirer of your Christmas related items, especially the sets of Christmas Peep cars! Hope those will be considered in the future, I'll be watching close. I love the whimsical/reality/practicality of all your dependable products! (picked up a few in the past year)

Thanks for starting back up again!     Mark
