One of the frustrations of this hobby is the typical perspective.....from about a scale 100' altitude! Not many layouts are built at a 1:48 viewer's perspective.....standing on the ground.
'So what?'
Well, the tops of everything are rather prominent.
Take railroad equipment for example.....railroad cars.....boxcars, to the point.
After experiencing the plethora of improvements available from 'The Dark Side'.....HO
....like Kadee's exceptional, affordable roofwalks, to the point....it's most frustrating to see quality see-through steel roofwalks on RTR equipment from today's O2R/O3R scale manufacturers....and, yet, not be able to obtain them separately to complement the building of older kits, the upgrading of older RTR models, etc., etc..
It's not like we're asking for new dies/molds to be made. That's already done....and in evidence.
Other parts, too. Doors, ladders, underframe details, etc..
So, how about expanding horizons? Fancy packaging not needed. Just parts, please.
Again....need a 'template'? Look at how Kadee has taken their exquisite RTR 40'/50' boxcar lines and their accurate variety of details into the detail market.
Please.
There is an affordable need for detail parts among the legion of O-so-needy.
