I have a previous version of RRTrack (v4) on an old computer of mine.  With this previous version, I had the MTH accessories library, which has various MTH buildings in it.  I would like to use that library with my new version 5.1 on my current computer.

Does anyone know if there is simply a file for the MTH accessories library I can copy from the v4 folder on my old computer, and paste into my v5.1 folder on my current computer?  Or do I need to purchase the library again for this new version of RRTrack?

Thank you.

Hello Charly,

Thank you for the help.  So, do I need to basically copy all the files from my version 4 folder on my old computer and put them on my current computer?  Do I just drop the files into the version 5 folder or a separate folder?  I am concerned because there are many duplicate file names in the version 4 and 5 folders.

I would like to somehow be able to identify which file is the MTH Accessories library file and just copy that file.  I can't determine that based on the file names.

The only way I was able to get this to work was to re-install (not just copy) ALL the v4 items (base program and libraries(s)) onto the new computer and then run the v5 update which then  migrated my libraries.   I then checked if there were any new library updates on the RR-Track website and installed them.

Time consuming but it worked.

Thanks guys.  I'll probably just repurchase the library.  I don't think I even have the original disc for the v4.

With grade tracks, I noticed a similar problem when there is a switch track involved.  It doesn't seem to be able to do a grade track unless you are doing a grade with a single track at a time, meaning just two ends connected to different heights.  For a hump yard, I might try putting the switch on a flat, at whatever height you need, and then putting the middle track piece on top of each hump at a higher level, and then grading each track between the high point track and the switch, and the same on the other side of the hump, between the highest point track and wherever the grade ends.

If you bought the program in a bundle with certain libraries already installed you will need your original serial number to migrate them into V5.  Similarly if you have bought additional libraries seperately you will need the serial numbers for each seperate library.  You can download the libraries from here and then run them and follow the prompts.

From the RRTrack website regarding grades:

"The track you choose for the grade track must be all of the track between the track section at the beginning height and the track section at the ending height.

In other words, there must be a track section at each end of the grade that is not included in the grade track and at different heights (or your grade will have no slope). All of the track sections must be contiguous; this means they have to be joined to each other and to the target track sections at each end of the grade."

FWIW

Thank you.

Before you buy, it's worth an email to Russ. I bet he has your purchase history tied to the 5.1 purchase
