Does anyone have experience with rolling stock from the San Juan Car Company? They have some beautiful tank cars, but being fairly new to the hobby I don't know if they work on/with Lionel track and rolling stock, and if their scale is correct to O Gauge.

All their products are geared towards the 2-Rail SCALE modeler in both standard gauge and narrow gauge. Their products are excellent, but I would not expect them to "match up" with most 3-Rail equipment.

You may enjoy reading the O Scale Freight Car Guide to Tank Cars. The San Juan models enter the discussion on Page 2.

As Hot Water said, the San Juan tank cars are excellent 1:48 scale models. They are based on very small prototype cars. They will be smaller than the 8,000 gallon tank car models from Atlas, Lionel and MTH as well as more detailed and more fragile.

Rally nice cars that appeal to a somewhat earlier era than many model and are very nice, accurate in scale, and detailed cars - surprisingly heavy for their size, but not excessively so either. You can find them rather reasonably priced as well.
Probably not for interaction with traditional 3-rail track and cars w/o a lot of conversion effort.
Thanks for the info on San Juan. Also, the article on tank cars was really informative. Appreciate the help!
