My Great Uncle Lew Belle (my namesake) was a saw sharpener in the big mills. That and the Sawyer were the two highest skilled and highest paying jobs in the Mills. My Great Uncle Fred was the Sawyer. He was killed one day when he let the carriage run off the ways on the return and was crushed by the log. Dad visited his Uncles and watched them work. He was fascinated by the "Doggers", two men who rode the carriage back and forth and would work the dogs that held the log in place on the carriage.
Wooooow!!! That is beautiful!
News to me! I wondered what happened to the old Babbitt line of loco kits...now l know...and did not know BTS offered a grain elevator. Wonder if anybody on here has built a three rail Babbitt?
The BTS model kits are a pleasure. Cabin Creek Coal tipple. , Elliott and Sons Supply. Orbisonia Station.
Very nice scratchbuild.
I used (and have another to use) interior for a much smaller mill, where l have built one old small mill kit, and have another, different, to build....those interiors are way too small for your mill, but parts may be usable, if you find one. I will have to dig to pull up the names. The older brand sold interiors separately, after providing one in their kit, and other did not, but l lucked on a separate interior kit, so they exist(ed).
