Seeking Info - Lionel Railsounds Boxcar (Diesel Sounds, 1997 Version)

The Lionel 6-19887 comes with battery backup.

I'm thinking that the Railbox RailSounds boxcar you're describing is the 6-17214 Standard O version from 1993. If you're after something that's Standard O, there really isn't anything that's a direct equivalent.

But if a 6464-sized boxcar is OK, the 6-19887 Southern Pacific from 2000 that John mentioned above is a good choice, as is the 6-19860 Conrail from 1999, which is really the only other option from that time period. Both are full RailSounds system with battery back-ups.

I have that Southern Pacific Steam Sounds model.  I removed the SP shell & put on an ARR 9758 shell

I put Diesel Sounds into a custom painted ARR GP B unit.

Thanks for confirming the Lionel SKU number of my Standard O RAILSOUNDS boxcar made in 1993. The info about the 1997 release of two RAILSOUNDS boxcars, albeit of traditional size, will enable me to start searching online for these cars -- the diesel sounds version.  The battery backup feature built-in to the 1997 models is a plus; a feature not incorporated into my 6-17214 RAILSOUNDS boxcar.

FYI the 19887 SP diesel RailSounds boxcars are offered in Trainz auctions fairly regularly and go for about half what they sell for infrequently on eBay.
