Can someone breakdown the differences between all the LionChief systems (LionChief, +, ++, 2.0)? Went on the Lionel site where they reference a chart that I could not find. Have bought 2 different used Lionchief engines for my grandson, since they didn't come with boxes or documentation I have no idea what versions they are. I have to say I think the system is great for kids to the point where I wish kits were available for converting transformer controlled engines. Thanks for any responses.

Doesn't matter all that much what versions of LionChief locos you have. They all operate with the Universal Remote (about $40) or the remote they come with. You may be able to download specific manuals on-line based upon the road name.
There are few to none LC+ 2.0 locos around so they aren't that. LC+ have a switch for conventional vs. LionChief operation. No switch and it's definitely LC only, which is probably what you have in all likelihood. Remote or Universal remote operation only, although the LionChief app should also work on your phone or tablet.
Plus, Lionchief remotes are black, Lionchief Plus remotes are blue and the universal remote is orange.
