Has anyone sold their trains using Trainz.com? What has been your experience?

They refuse to buy unless you have more than $1000 of product
I sold them a ton of 027 a couple of years back - the process was painless and the price they offered was a pleasant surprise but their check took 10 weeks to arrive.
I guess their business model is to break up collections, sell the items on eBay or elsewhere and get their money before they send the check out to you.
Well, nothing wrong with that business plan is there?
Someone stiffed me for TEN weeks they would be looking at a gun barrell!

I don't think that is very realistic. If you took them to an auction house it would probably take longer. On the other hand, for as large an operation as they appear to be, one would think they would have the cash to buy collections and pay up front. Though with today's market, that model may be too risky. Many of the selling prices on Trainz auction can be quite low.
Speaking of auction houses, a couple of years back, a forum member that I was acquainted with many years ago, passed away. I heard from someone closer to him than I was, that his surviving family took his trains to an auction house. As of about six months ago they had not been paid. I'm not sure if that has been resolved to this day. At the time, the auction house seemed reputable, but they may have been operating on a "robbing Peter to pay Paul" business model.
