Every year I have been bringing a small Lionel train layout to my office during the Holiday Season. I invite my coworkers to a tree lighting, always held the Wednesday after Thanksgiving just like Rockefeller Center. This year was my 42nd annual tree lighting.
Here is the little Polar Express Layout that I built for my office.
Here are a few of the coworkers who rotated in and out of my office all afternoon on November 28, 2018 and joined me for Italian bakery cookies and apple cider.
Later in the afternoon one of our workers brought he 9 year old son to my office to see the train. He was having some eye problems and had recently had multiple surgeries and he loved watching the little Polar Express train go around the little layout with the "big mountain!" So, I decided, as Christmas approached, to make a gift of the layout and train set to this "big" little train fan and his little brother.
Here they are putting the layout together in their apartment. Their Mom sent me these pictures.
It really made me happy when I received an email from their Mom and she told me that they both said "Mr. Skip is the best!"
I won't ever pass on an opportunity like this!
