At this stage I'm giving a lot of thought to the "nerve center" (control panel and electric stuff to be mounted under the control panel). Thinking the very visible part (control panrl itself) would have my toggles and turnout switches. Stained a piece of red oak plywood for this piece and it looks great. The vertical underneath part would have the terminal blocks, powerhouse bricks, etc. Was thinking of painting it black and actually doing it in a sort of cabinet form. The front would be two doors that open so that I can get to the wiring without having to crawl underneath and get behind the thing. Only monkey wrench is the Z4K. On occasion my children will want to operate things conventionally and mounting the Z4K underneath wouldn't do, nor would mounting it to the "very visible" flat part (level with layout) as it would create a giant obstruction. What does your "nerve center" look like? Peter
