im looking for some guidance on constructing medium size skyscrapers. im not looking for the grand art deco thing , but just your run of the mill midtown manhatten tall building (glass / steel). any pictures / construction advise welcome! i have some idea from things i have seen , but want to hone it in.

I'd use the search feature here. There have been quite a few how too photo spreads showing, for example, leavingtracks' skyscraper and others' way of making them. Depending on if and how detailed, and if you want lighting through the windows inside, they can be easy or difficult to make.
But if you can't get the search feature here to work (it is powerful but takes learning on how to work around its proclitivities) just wait. I'm sure people will post more here.
