The SMMRRC is hosting monthly Open Houses this summer (1p- 4p) through the fall at our clubhouse located upstairs in the Buffalo Creek Vacations RR Station. Our room is 30' x 50' with the layout almost completely filling the area - lots of train action! Western NC near Asheville is a beautiful area with cooler summer temperatures and a lot to see and do. The Biltmore House (America's largest private home) is 30 minutes to the east and there are many activities if you enjoy the outdoors with hiking, fly fishing, photography, kayaking, etc. Our host has a 65a American Bison Ranch with a decent herd of almost 30 of the beasts. Also some llamas, alpacas, miniature horses, goats, etc. for a great family vacation. Come and stay in one of their restored ACL cabooses right outside the clubhouse or a nice log cabin and bring a train to run. Club is asking a $5 donation at the door.
