Don't change anything. Use the file with the .rem extension. Its the right file.

Thanks for the response. The driver sets the extension for the file it is looking for. Which is txt. therefore, it will not even display the correct rem file as an option. If the rem file is correct than the driver is wrong and I have downloaded it 4 times all with the same result. Am I the only with this issue?

Are you sure you are selecting "Send code to remote" when the system menu is selected. I found that when you select "Transfer Remote Data From PC" the open dialog displays with a .txt filter.

Select "System-> Send Code to the Remote"

Then you will have the correct dialog to filter for .rem files.

It sounds like you are selecting the wrong button to update the remote's firmware.  Float over each button on the loader program and you'll see a pop-up description of the button's function.  You want the button labeled "Send the Code to the Remote."  When you press that button the program will want a ".rem" file.  I suspect you are instead pressing the "Transfer the Remote Data from the PC" button, which requires you to select a ".txt" file that was previously downloaded from a remote.  The ".rem" file is the remote's firmware where as the ".txt" file contains the roster data for engines, switches, accessories, etc., that are stored on the remote.
