And a DR Ko class switcher:
Rusty
What gauge are you using, O, G, or something else. Good pics what ever it is.
Thanks,
Al
Hi Al They are O scale running on HO track the same as On30.The germans call it Oe/Om amongest other names.
Rusty I see you have the up market version of the diesel as it has the horn on the cab roof.

Hi James, they look nice, are they 1:45 scale or thereabouts? Great to see your interest regenerated mate!

Hi Dave, yes they must be as they run well with the Bachmann On30 now I`ve changed the couplers.
It is great to get something straight out the box and it runs no computer boards or sounds to go wrong.
May start to revive the large oo layout in the garage into an On30 layout, just need the time & patience.

That's a great idea. I love narrow gauge, and have been collecting pieces for a few years. I want to incorporate it around my future layout, at the back, so that I can also run OO/HO on it giving a perspective of depth and distance.
The coaches arrived today.
Fleishmann with a Bachmann 030 car in the middle.
I found the Magic Train line fascinating and bought some pieces. I was disappointed to learn that Fleischmann only put out two different locomotives. My interest cooled when I learned that one of them is the little 0-4-0T made famous by LGB in G-gauge. My reaction was: Two locomotives? That's all?
I remember reading an article in a European model railroad magazine about Europeanizing a Bachmann 2-6-0. The "after" picture looked very different from the "before" picture and makes me wonder how many other European modelers have Europeanized Bachmann's American/Americas locomotives because they've been left high and dry in terms of locomotives.
I must agree there re Fleishmann but they at least made some before giving up.
There was a 0-4-0 on ebay that had a tender.

Hello, new to this forum. I find it very enlighting. I have a few pieces of Magic Train that
need a new home. I have never been able to find any reference to magic train using ebay search.
I hope this goes to the right spot on the forum. Can post photos if any one is interested.

I have the diesel in green with a black cab roof. I put Kadees on it and it lives happily with my Bachmann On30 trains. I'd like to get one of their steamers some day.
BTW, Marklin made On30 back around 1970. Does anyone here have any of that?
John
Don may be interested but you do not have your email in your profile.

Where are you finding all this? I can't find the lcomotives for sale anywhere...
The best place to look is on German eBay. It is usually listed in the "Schmalspur" section. Also some of the larger German hobby shops do have some stock left. It appears quite a bit was produced.
All the best,
Miketg
How tough would it be to convert that critter to DCC? Doesn't look like too difficult to 'Americanize' one.
