Thought I'd show some of my 1/2" scale buildings here. These buildings are just flats and were built for a customer. Balsa Foam, balsa wood, styrene and my own resin castings for the details. The buildings are of my own design, however, they feature Mesker bros. cast and stamped metal trim popular before the turn of the century and into the 1900's. my buildings reflect repurposing and lack of care. The Ford is a styrene kit weathered to reflect hard usage. The grille is metal.

Tom, very nice, that is excellent work.
Really interesting work, very nicely done.

Terrific detail and look. Will client have these outside?
No Don, they are intended for inside.
Seriously realistic work. Looks like my hometown. (I won't name names).
Normally, I'd advise you roll up the windows and lock the doors when leaving a car unattended in that neighborhood.... but upon review of that Ford, don't bother.
Again, well done Mr. Yorke. Your talent is outstanding!

tom absolutely superb modeling!!!
Wow, very well done.
thank you
Andre.
Excellent work. I've seen this town too many times in photos depicting the 1920-30's
Really nice look. Lots of weathering and wear. Fantastic work.
Do you have some same scale trains to pose with these?
Amazing and beautiful!
Tom,
I've got to say that this is some of the best stuff i've ever seen on this forum. The details and weathering are just fantastic. You are talented, no doubt. Would love to be able build something like that in 1/48 scale. Keep up the great work.
Yes C.Sam, I have many, many Gn15 locos and trains all built from scratch on either HO or On30 mechanisms. I am modeling an island railway in the basement. These buildings wouldn't go with it though. They are too American Mainland. I am modeling the Caribbean area with it's bright colors and European-style structures. It's all free lance, however, it is based on my trip to Cuba in 1981. I shot 36 rolls of 35mm film there!
Fantastic work Tom.
Nice work!!! Looks like any town up here in the coal region.
This is superb work. Should make your customer very happy.
Incredible. At first glance I was convinced this is an actual building and your intentions were to model it. I had to read twice to convince myself this IS the model. Well done sir!
