Sound activation buttons | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I have the Lionel sound activation buttons 6-5906 and when used with postwar whistles and modern postwar conventional classic diesels with electronic sounds the locomotives slow down to a crawl. When a Cw80 is used there is no change in speed. Any ideas on how to activate these sound without reducing performance and spending a lot. Also layout to large to be powered by cw80. Currently use postwar ZW.
