I have some and hate the sounds. In one case I have gutted the tender in favor of an air whistle.

Here is my sounds of steam lock in action.
That video is the first I've actually heard Mighty Sound of Steam. I honestly think I like it better than the modern sound-equipped engines. Maybe it isn't realistic, but I'm a toy train guy.
