Hello tcox009- Do you still have your Soviet Pioneer train? -Larry

Yes I do
Photos???
Is it all the cars, locomotive, and tender on the second shelf from the top, or are they on intermixed with the ones on the bottom shelf?
The upper shelf has the 2 freight cars, station and signals. The lower has the engine, passenger cars, bridge and crossing
I am gathering information to analyze the production history of these trains and eventually write a book about them. If you are interested in learning more about your own set, please send me detailed pictures of each piece, paying special attention to numbers and markings on the undersides. Then I will send you a short report of what I find.
THANKS!
Two. articles have appeared on Soviet era trains in the TCA's Train Collectors Quarterly, first in Vol 44-1 Or January 1998 and second in Vol 62-4 or October 2016
Weren't the "Young Pioneers" the Soviet version of Scouts, imbued with Communist ideology?
I enjoyed reading those articles. John Cardwell's are the best. A while back I submitted an article, too, but they haven't run it yet. If TCQ only publishes one every 18 years, I guess I'll have to wait my turn. There's not a great demand for this topic.
Some good info here. http://www.davestrains.com/sovarchives.html#ARCHIVES

Yes, Dave's Trains is a great place for Soviet Era trains. Along with great Postwar and others. My favorite place to acquire great items not easily found.

The whole world turns to Dave's Trains for information on these trains, and the whole world cuts and pastes his text and pictures onto their web pages. I can't imagine that websites in other countries are paying Dave royalties. They just take it. My wife keeps saying I should develop my own website, but the same thing will happen.
