SP Freight Depot | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I needed a passenger/freight depot for my layout.

I started with the Atlas O Rural station which gave me the base structure and roof rafters. Then I extended and kitbashed it to a believable Southern Pacific depot. Freight doors and platform are scratch built. The design is based on several sources incl. the fantastic blog by Tony Thompson (link).

My next step is to integrate it into the scenery. Any recommendations to hide the gaps between the ground plate and scenery?

You did a great job of capturing the design of the SP stations. FWIW American Model Builders has done a similar type 23 combination depot.

Is that the Niles Ca Depot…we ride the light train each Christmas…it is one of the stations for my Garden RR…I am depicting the line from Pleasanton through Sunol and Niles Canyon and ending in Niles…
