I know that I am one of many that want to thank Rich for the OGR Forum. In my opinion the OGR Forum has become a great asset to 3-Rail and O scale train modelers. The postings/replies by individual Forum members has and continues to provide valuable information and assistance. I have received the O Gauge Railroading Magazine since the early 1990's and have found this publication to be informative.

I'll add my +1 to that. The moderators do a great job of creating an atmosphere conducive to the exchange of ideas and teaching of techniques that are mutually beneficial to the participants. I've learned a lot here, and when I have had a problem, there has been no shortage of help.

Kudos to the OGR crew and thanks for the many hours you put in getting sponsors and monitoring this forum.

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I was jokingly going to say nothing worse than a bunch of Butt kissers.  However

I have used the OGR Video Guide to DCS so much that if Rich Melvin came to my door my wife would probably think he lives here with us, and he would be granted immediate access to our entire home.  I purchased the OGR DCS Video guide even before I purchased Barry's book, I love the OGR forum and sometimes purchase the magazine also, Rich's idea to make this OGR forum was one of the best things to ever happen to our O Guage Hobby.

Many thanks Rich.

PCRR/Dave

Steamer,

Now let's not overdo it. After all, the sun came out and it is up in the twenties.

Whoo Hoo, almost better than hump day

Besides, the snow piles in our parking lot outside my window are now less than five tall. Frozen wasteland? I don't think so.

How is that for optimism? Anyway, appreciate the kind remarks about Rich and Forum.

No question about it - The OGR forum is an excellent place to learn and thus make the most out of O-Gauge railroading.

From learning the solutions to almost any type of problem we may encounter, to seeing the masterpieces created by the many expert members who frequently contribute to the forum, and which motivate us to improve our skills and our own work, this forum in unequalled.

And then there are the acquaintances for which we can thank the forum as well. If it were not for the forum, I would not have anyone with whom to share, talk, and visit who has the same interest in trains as I do.

Yes, a nice place to spend some time every day, relax and enjoy.

Rich Melvin/ Allan Miller/ Ed Boyle And all the staff out there at OGR I want to personally Thank all of you for your Gallant Efforts and untiring Dedication to produce one of the premiere O Gauge Magazine and for the Gracious accomodation of all of us by allowing us to use this Forum.  It is a great Knowledge Resource which would not be able to exist without All of you.  My Hats off and My Whistle is Blowing

Again Thanks for all that you do

Wow...I don't know what to say other than THANK YOU!

But remember that this forum has become a great place to talk about O Gauge trains because of YOU FOLKS more so than anything I/we have done. We have attracted a great group of people here who are passionately interested in talking about the hobby, not other people. The discussions here are civil and polite (for the most part ) and a lot of ideas are shared here.

I think it is appropriate for me to thank all of YOU for making this forum the best place on the internet to talk about O gauge trains. Over 7 MILLION PAGES were served from this forum last month! That's a new record...and we're still growing!

Of course, I cannot say, "Rich Melvin, thank you" enough. I knew nothing abut trains, really, before the Forum. And though I still have some friends who say I know nothing about trains, if it were not for the OGR Forum:

1) I could never have built my layouts

2) I would have many fewer friends

3) Rich Melvin's favorite locomotive would have stayed on the tracks and I would still be able to travel to Indiana

I share the sentiments that we can thank Rich, Allan, Ed and the other good folks at the OGR Family for providing the best place to be for all of the O-Gauge information we really need. There are many ways other than posts here to say thank you by actively participating in this Forum, by subscribing to OGR Magazine, or if you have an article that you would like to see published, give Allan as the Editor of OGR the first shot at it. This is not talked about much for obvious reasons, but I believe loyalty begins at home.

Thanks again, guys.

Yep, hats off to Rich.  When I signed on to this forum almost thirteen years ago I loved toy and model trains but all I could really do was run them.  I had absolutely no technical expertise whatsoever when it came to the repair of post-war Lionel and American Flyer engines but after a period of time with all of the information and expertise provided on this forum I gradually developed the skills necessary to do most of the maintenance and repair work on my own engines.  Over the years this has led to an increased enjoyment of the hobby and I know I owe it all to the OGR Forum.  Thanks again, Rich.
