The Spring Thaw Train Meet takes place in 2 weeks on Feb 25-26 in Allentown PA. I am about 3 hours away from this and have never attended. Is it worth the trip (6 hours round trip) for 2-rail stuff? How does it compare to the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium MD (which I have attended frequently)? Thanks for your opinions!

You can do the O scale meet and then go to the Strasburg RR for some steam and to the RR museum of PA.

And find some of the best home cooked meals and food in in the US in the area!

Do u guys have a link for the strasburg show?

There is a link, but it doesn't seem to be up-to-date: http://www.scaletworail.com/

Next meet is April 14.

O Scale Trains Magazine has this info on the meet: Strasburg Train Show Two Rail swap meet at the Strasburg Fire Co, 203 W. Franklin St., 9 am to 1 pm. It is a small swap meet but a great place to get 2 rail stuff. I always run out of money before I run out of things I want.

The Strasburg meet is great! I have been at every one since they started. Anyone attending the meet should also check out the Strasburg Train Shop which is just a couple of blocks away, which carries 0 Gauge Lionel, MTH and Atlas.

Since you have mentioned MTH, Lionel, & Atlas O are you into 3 rail, bargains, and are you into railroadania? If so the Allentown show is for you! If you are strictly into 2 rail then the Strasburg show is where you want to go.
