The Spring Thaw Train Meet takes place in 2 weeks on Feb 25-26 in Allentown PA. I am about 3 hours away from this and have never attended. Is it worth the trip (6 hours round trip) for 2-rail stuff? How does it compare to the Great Scale Model Train Show in Timonium MD (which I have attended frequently)? Thanks for your opinions!

one of the better train shows given the decline in numbers and quality but I have never seen any 2 rail stuff that would make a 6 hr RT worth it if that is all you are seeking. Probably the largest selection of flyer items however.
The Lehigh Valley HiRailers will have a 25x 60ft modular layout up a operating. Stop by and say "Hi!"

Not at all worth a 6 hour ride. Wait two more months till April 14th and come to Strasburg to the O scale meet there.
You can do the O scale meet and then go to the Strasburg RR for some steam and to the RR museum of PA.
And find some of the best home cooked meals and food in in the US in the area!
The Strasburg meet is great! I have been at every one since they started. Anyone attending the meet should also check out the Strasburg Train Shop which is just a couple of blocks away, which carries 0 Gauge Lionel, MTH and Atlas.

It is a small swap meet but a great place to get 2 rail stuff. I always run out of money before I run out of things I want.

Since you have mentioned MTH, Lionel, & Atlas O are you into 3 rail, bargains, and are you into railroadania? If so the Allentown show is for you! If you are strictly into 2 rail then the Strasburg show is where you want to go.
Don't forget you can satisfy your 2 rail wants at the Cherry Valley swap meet on March 10. Its located in Merchantville, NJ near Cherry Hill. Lots of good stuff at great bargains, plus a huge operating layout to boot!
I am surprised buy the lack of enthusiam for the ATMA Show. I am not into the 2 rail stuff but It is a great show with over 600 tables.. I always look forward to it. But you do have a long drive.
