Great job running the meeting, Jim.  Thanks to Ken for organizing it and to all who presented.

Interesting as always. Thanks to all the presenters and Ken for putting this together. Zoom groups like this are a great way to learn and promote our interests and one of the great things to come from the pandemic. I look forward to seeing some of you in person in a few weeks at York.

Ken (and all) - please make sure to stop by and have a cup of coffee and see a bunch of unique standard gauge trains at our SGMA breakfast Friday morning 7:30 to 9 am!

It's always a great time and one of the highlights of my York experience.

Jim

Hey Bob - stand by - we discussed at the SGMA breakfast at York but no decisions made. Most likely either Oaks PA in July or Chantilly VA in August. Possibly the Great Scale Train show in MD in mid Oct, although that is dangerously close to the Fall York meet.

Jim

Jim,

I need to start making plans.  Any decision yet on the whether the next SGMA show will be at Oaks, PA in July or at Chantilly, VA in August?

Bob Nelson

The SGMA will be applying for space at both the August Dulles/Chantilly show and at the October Timonium show.  There was no real opportunity for a worthwhile display at “York” unfortunately. The “Midwest” SGMA group is planning to participate in Trainfest in November. I’m meeting with the Director of Winterthur Museum (Delaware) this coming Tuesday to discuss a holiday season show there, and my brother Chuck has made an agreement with the Eau Claire Wisconsin public library to show a large SGMA layout in their new community room during the holidays.

Lots of opportunities to “play trains” this year!  I hope we will see you at one or more of these events.

Kirk

Other than Ebay, where tinplate appears to be at "collectors" prices, is there any place where late model (2005 and up) standard gauge tinplate trains are readily available?

Sidetrack Hobbies has a wide selection.  Trainz sometimes has it at semi-reasonable prices.

York, and other larger train meets generally have a fair amount.
