Power is on. I hear the click that power is there. When I hit startup with my DCS Remote nothing happens.

This is dumb and I know because I've done it before, but are you sure that you have the correct engine selected?
Yes, for sure because at the time only one DCS engine was on an active track. I thought maybe trying to turn off the home wifi, turn it back on and then do the same with the DCS wifi and go from there and see what happens. Thanks for the answer. If that works, I'll let you know.
Wait now... In your first post you said DCS remote. In your follow on post you mentioned wifi. What are you using, the remote or the app?
Engines in the app seem to migrate into inactive mode frequently compared to the remote. You might want to double check to ensure the engine is on he active list .

you should power the tracks with transformer only no tiu or tiu dcs turned off all off in menu! then see if engine will start up in conventional . engine should at least startup with track power applied 10 volts or higher, sounds should come on and if you hit red direction button engine should start to move, if not you could have a wiring or board issue ! If engine runs ok do a conventional reset and try to run engine again with DCS! one Bell and % whistle and you should here 2 whistle toots to let you know it reset! then try dcs again! PS an engine item number would help so we know exact board you have ps 2 5 volt ps 2 3 volt etc. !!

which engine is it ( product number) and do you know if it has proto sound 2 or 3? Please clarify what type of dcs system you are using. I recently found out dcs explorer does not always play nice with proto 2 engines
I made a discovery. Track power and TIU on. Next I unplugged the power cord and the USB cord from the wifi unit. Replaced the USB and the power and pressed the WPS button for a few seconds. Waited until the power light and TIU light were steady and the wifi light blinking. Picked up the android phone and moved an engine from inactive to active and started it up. Success. Just to be sure I did the same for another MTH DCS engine. What to think? Does the wifi unit have mind of its own?
Yes, it does. I want to choose when to make an engine inactive. DCS wifi doesn't need to do it for me. Get used to it. It happens often.
