Yes, they made it with a 10E and a 384 also in the Lionel set.

Of course Hojack added the Lionel Classic Christmas box cars from 1989, 1990 and 1991 (6-13601, -13602, 6-13604) in his consist. These were never part of the set but available as separate sale items for those years mentioned.
As for the MTH sets, I believe the first Christmas freights showed up in 2003.
Here is the #9e with the 200 series freights (dark green gondola with Christmas tree bulbs and a caboose).
There was also an add-on box car...
In 2008, MTH released the 384 Christmas freight set. It had the 500 series pea green gondola and red caboose. Also available were the white reefer car and the red box car as separate sale items.
In 2009, the Lionel Corp Tinplate catalog offered the 384 freight set (384e, gondola and caboose) and a 500 series reefer and box car separately.
In 2010, LCT offered the same set and cars, with the addition of a 500 series stock car, a different box car and a hopper.
I can't locate my 2011-2013 LCT catalogs, so I will jump right to 2014.
In 2014, LCT cataloged the 318 Christmas set with 500 series "Snowflake" box car, gondola and caboose. Available separately was the "Candy Cane" tanker and the "Frosty" reefer.
That's all I got for now.

nice review of the 500 Christmas freights, Arno.
my set started out as the 2009 set with the 384, the dark green gondola, and the red caboose. The gondola was a bit of a disappointment as there isn't anything very Christmas-y about it. So I dressed it up with a Christmas tree load, and put Santa on the back deck of the caboose, waving his bell.
The three Lionel 1989-90-91 box cars are fun to add, they come up frequently for sale and are relatively inexpensive, with bold Christmas graphics.
Some of the other "Christmas" cars that have been made don't have much for special Christmas graphics. But the Coal car and the candy stripe tank are great. I was also happy when they came out with the blue and white Frosty snowman reefer last year; I thought it was a big improvement over the previous reefer, and I added it after my photos were taken. That makes for 8 cars plus the tender, which is getting to be long enough for the 384.
Other possibilities are for a flat car with a 1:32 scale sleigh tied down on it; nobody makes it, but if I can find an appropriate sleigh I would make one up. Not sure if a stock car full of reindeer is appropriate, Santa's reindeer probably aren't used to being cooped up like that.

David,
Actually, back in 2006 MTH cataloged a red and green 500 series Christmas "cattle" car, #10-2160, which is lettered "CHRISTMAS EXPRESS REINDEER CAR". It's very bland and I would love to see them catalog another "reindeer" stock car but this time with a much more dramatic Christmas paint scheme!

I really like the MTH 200 series flat w/firetruck and Santa Clause. This is one piece I would never part with. If you come across one...make sure the Santa figure is intact.. many have broken. This piece brings back memories from when I was a kid. A week or two before x-mas..in the town of Islip Terrace on Long Island..the fire dept would drive the fire truck at night w/sirens around the neighborhood with a Santa Sitting on top of the engine. He would throw small mesh stockings with pieces of hard candy to the kids. We would hear the sirens and literally wait outside hoping the truck would turn down our block.

Gene, that is VERY cool. LOVE the cross chains on the sleigh, very nicely done! Thank you for sharing the photos, it gives me inspiration.

it took me looking over six years to get one. Finding the firetruck not broken to bits is also a challenge - these Yat Ming cars do not ship well. I think they are no longer made.
