I'm sure this has been touched on before, but I'm hoping to gain some advice on these item-specific engines. Don't worry, it's a short list! ๐Ÿ˜Š

All Lionel:

6-28039 UP 2-8-0

6-28005  PRR E6

6-38036. LI 2-8-0

6-28075  C&O 2-6-6-2

How does one go about removing the crew members? I know they are separate castings. Are they glued on or do they have some kind of "tab" that holds them in place?

They are way too clean looking and have a shine to them, so I would like to address these minor issues.

As always, any help is most appreciated. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lionel seems to follow a few methods of construction. Some have the rear portion of the cab removable. The Mikados are built that way. Some you can separate the whole cab right at the blackhead. I know the 10 wheelers use that method. Some I believe are just solid. Which may be the case with your Consolidations.  The figures are fairly easy to remove. You may need some small fingers or tweezers to get them back in place.  In some cases It might be easier to remove the shell. If you do end up ever changing them out. Do test fit first. I had to amputate a few feet to get them in place
