I am looking to add a fourth steamer to my layout. Was looking to go with something that could showcase the legacy System. Any suggestions?.

If you're not too particular to road names, the Lionel 2-6-6-2 Mallet is very nice. They're all over eBay at blow-out prices now.
Gilly
Out of all the ones I have, Lionel's new Legacy Southern Crescent is my favorite - love the whistle sound and the steam effect, and of course good, strong operator.

I agree about the Southern Crescent. I have one and it is a wonderful loco. You have to love the green and red color scheme, though. If not, the Alton is a fine loco (same thing basically just more muted colors.
If I were you before making a decision on a new Legacy engine, I would wait for two or three weeks for the new Lionel 2013 Signature Catalog. There may be something special in terms of a Legacy engine.
Unless you are pressed about making a decision, WAIT.
I just got one of the Mikados from a year or two ago on sale from Charles Ro. Best sound I've ever heard on a locomotive - better than any of my other Legacy engines. Price was right at 600. Only bummer is a bum smoke unit, which apparently was chronic that year. I'm sure Lionel will fix it, but since I live out West, it will cost me for shipping.
i will wait to see what comes out, I'm in no rush. Thanks for all the advice
I have the PRR Legacy Mikado from the 2011 Signature catalog. It's a GREAT looking engine, and comes alive with Legacy Command (Just got my Cab-2/990 Set) Whistle sounds are awesome, it's all die-cast (HEAVY) and looks great on fast track.
