Just got back from services and checking to see what good work has been posted to the Sunday showcase and see that it hasn't been started yet so will kick it off with a little old metal house that I found in a box of junk that a friend was getting rid of, that just caught my eye. It's ugly, old, and in dire need of repair, stripping, and repainting and detailing. I believe it's S scale from the early 50's or post war (7" W x9" D x 5" H, which is perfect for the perspective of where in the background I see it going. If anyone knows anything about the house let me know, it's pretty solid metal so I believe it will take to refinishing well.

Not sure, I hope there is some kind of identifying mark inside once I remove it from the board it's presently screwed down on. It could be homemade but whoever did it was pretty good, along the lines of the Forums own AG who could turn out something like this. I don't think it's brass though. from the metal showing through the paint chips it looks like it's a thick tin and a magnet holds on to it. I found the screen porch to be what really grabbed me. Can't wait to see if I can do it proud on refinishing it.

Here's a little forced perspective I recently completed.  The train and station are O-scale while the town in the hills is HO.  Those buildings cost a grand total of $12 at a train show.  Some don't have backs and most don't have roofs but they are placed high and behind some hills so you don't know those parts are missing.

Patrick great fit with the Miner's camp. I like the way you took a smaller space and made it look a lot larger.

Bob the forced perspective really adds realism to the layout, beautiful scene.

Vulcan the diner rocks! I enjoy every post of your work, truly the best.

Removed the house from it base and I would say it was handmade. I like the way the builder came up with to hold the plastic window film in.

This is a real treasure! I love it.

patrick, that is one great scene. the cabins fit in perfectly and the scenic work is exceptional.

bob, I often find that forced perspective looks sort of, er... "forced" but you really made it work. and the price was certainly right!

vulcan, I've been holding off on my own diner kitbash until you finished and now I have the inspiration to go at it. if mine comes out half as good I'll be pleased. just great work as always.
