Good Morning Everyone,

I will start off with a water tank I have just constructed. A customer gave me two ho scale kits made by Tichy Train Group to make into an o scale tank. I added a ladder, overflow pipe, manholes and nozzle using o scale parts. The only difference is that the shell plates are only 4 feet wide in scale where they would normally be 6 to 8 feet wide. In the water tank world, this tank is known as a standpipe because the height is greater than the diameter.

Let's see what you have been working on.20210227_08523420210227_08525020210227_08530020210227_085308

The industrial area of Bellevue is evolving. Scratchbuilt a few buildings,Its a work in progress and the old church in that part of town takes time to celebrate one of its city members ,even the railroad workers paused to give a salute. The church was actually a school house in Alabama that caught my eye in a photo. Happy Sunday everyonr!!

I'm nearing the finish line on my tunnel project. It's on the layout and the ground cover has been laid down. I printed new backdrops and blended the base with an assortment of WS clump foliage and lichens. More detailing still to do and I have to wire in the lights.

Bob:

Could this be the entrance to a mine? I imagine a piece of 2-rail or narrow-gauge track with a mine car at the entrance, some mine workers, and darkening the interior. A possible scene?

That's a good idea Mel. My plan was that the road would be for access to the old tank car in the front corner. I have a couple of trucks that I will place there after it's done. The mining scene would work for sure. If I run out of things to do I could change it out one day. I have lot's of HO track and some old gondolas.....hmmmm.....

Regarding the Lionel 40ft flat car: I agree they are very nice.  They have a lot of scale sized details, and the body is diecast. Not only is nicely weighted, it has a very realistic underframe.

I replaced the scribed sheet wood deck with board by board construction. Its very easy to do. I added kadees, and filled in the gap in the ends left by the lobster claw to give a more realistic appearance.  Compare the following two photos:

And I added a coupld of EMD Flexicoil truck frames as a load:

The last photo was included because this is a scenery thread.  Everyone should be very impressed on the realism of the trees.
