Hello Everyone!  I always look forward to the weekly SSS thread so figured I would get it going this time.  Please post your work and/or comments!

My contribution this week is a Weaver Western Pacific 40' boxcar that I finished weathering last evening...

As always Joe, nice work. Her's what I'm un-weathering: this Jersey Central switching shanty has been absorbing Mother Nature's banes for decades, along with man's intolerance for things he doesn't appreciate, in the form of fire and graffiti. I have begun the process of restoring it as part of the collection of the Ashley Miners Historical Preservation which occupies a site adjacent to the former Blue Coal office building, and the Huber Breaker. Yesterday I began work on the sills. I also want to mention that the first five photos show the shanty in its permanent home, and has been pressure washed.

If anyone has any info or better photos of these shanties when in use, I would appreciate hearing form you.  My e mail is in my profile.

Don

Joe,

Your weathering and detailing of the car look great.100_4214100_4215100_4216Thank you for starting this off this morning. I was working on a couple of roundhouses and completely forgot. Actually, I am scared to try to use the computer since the wife updated to the latest windows format. It took three tries to get the pictures downloaded. Hopefully, I will get these pictures on showing the completion of the refinery furnace.
