Good Morning Everyone,
I will start off with a model I constructed in the past. Lets see what you have been working on.

Pictures show the wood water tank at the south end of my 10’-by-5’ layout, built from a kit by Banta Modelworks.

Alan that's a very interesting model. What is it?
Mel fine craftsmanship as usual.
Alan, do you recall the color you used for the silos?
Thank you.
Alan always fantastic projects
Melgar unbeatable scenery, nice job on water tank
scenes around my layout...NYC Hudson, water tank, Lida's Grocery Store, electric substation, REMCO Valve and Pump Co., Switch Tower, hobby camp
Melgar/Sidehack,
I love tanks. Thanks for posting the water towers.
Joe,
The model simulates an asphalt batching plant.
Jpc,
The color is rustoleum painters touch meadow green. Previously Kelly green. This is a common color for these asphalt batching plants and I really like it.
Alan and all, great projects. I learn something new each week with these postings. Appreciate all the photos and detailed explanations.
Thank you all.
Tom
I have LIRR B6 Switcher previously weathered. I obtained an Arttista fireman and shovel, mounted some coal on the shovel and then mounted him on the tender. Curious does anyone else mount additional engineers, fireman, RR personal?
Steve
L.I.Train (Steve),
I hesitate to glue anything onto engines other than for repair. However, your fireman shoveling coal from the tender, an excellent idea, adds realism and action to the locomotive scene and looks much better than having the fireman seated opposite the engineer. I would like to see the manufacturers supply a fireman with a proper mounting onto the tender - preferably threaded. In my opinion, much more worthwhile than whistle steam or a swinging bell...
