God Morning Everyone,
I will start off with a model I created in the past. Lets see what you have been working on.

Alan that's a mighty nice refinery. What's footprint? About 4'x5.5'?
Peter it may be slow going but your results always turn out so nice.

That is about right. It was built for former forum member Bill Elliotte.
Thanks Alan and Peter for sharing.
My contribution this week seems like small progress and very slow going. I finally aligned and attached the front porch roof, columns, and stoop for my house. I still need to attach downspouts for the gutters, but I’ll do that later, once I finalize the grade around the foundation.
Here’s a reference photo of the prototype:
Forgive me if I have posted this before. My aging brain seems to be slipping.
This is a long-term work in progress, my scratch-built Union Station.
Beautiful models everyone! And thanks for the peek at the Challenger Alan!! I have FINALLY finished my George’s Song Shop model. This is a model inspired by the real song shop in Johnstown, PA, where my dad grew up. I refreshed the interior lighting with an LED strip, and I took the liberty of adding lighting over the sign for better visibility. I hope the photos show the interior and lighting. Have a good week everyone!
Peter,
Glad to see your steady progress.
Anthony,
The house is looking great.
Randy,
You did a great job with union Station. Nice build.
Great work on the record store LT1. The interior came out very nice. Just remember Mopars rule.

That looks magnificent Randy! That’s going to be a sensational focal point on your layout. Where did you get the columns.

Thanks for the kind words. The columns are originally made and sold to hold the top layer of a wedding cake. They are available at either a cake specialty store or in craft stores such as A. C. Moore or Michaels that have a cake decorating section. I live on the eastern coast of the United States. I assume, but do not know for sure, if the aforementioned stores are national chains. They are called "Wilton - Grecian Pillars". The are packaged in sets of 4 columns of the same length. They come in 3 different lengths. The length that I used for the station is the medium length set. Do a Google search for "Wilton - Grecian Pillars for Cake Decorating".
Thanks Randy for the information. I’m a transplanted Philly boy living in mid-state PA. I will be heading to Michael’s.

Call and check with Michaels first. When I went to Michaels' web site after I posted the original response to your question, the Michaels where I purchased the columns did not seem to have them. If you have any cake decorating stores in your area, they may also be worth a call.
Guys...we deleted the off topic posts. If you want to discuss something other than trains, do so via profile email.

Randy, where or from whom did you get the station windows and doors? Your Union Station looks fabulous!

Thanks for the kind words. The windows are from Tichy Train Group. They are a combination of 2 window. The rectangular portion and rounded top window. The doors are from the Plasticville Union Station.
I trust that you and your beautiful wife are doing well?

Thanks, Randy! I’m debating whether to build my own for a commuter station or buy something commercially.
We are doing great and we hope you and Terry are as well!
