I have 3rd rail atsf gp7 road number 2650 this road number did not have dynamic brakes but my model does so the simple thing to do seems to be is to change the road number to one that did have dynamic brakes I would only have to change the last digit to get one with the dynamics maybe to 2655 any suggestions how to this it would have to the number boards also

Maybe you should eMail Scott Mann directly, and he could send you the correct non-dynamic brake hood piece, thus you would NOT have to renumber the model.

Atsfman,

No one would ever know if you didn't tell them.

Those who got their eyes crossed trying to read it would.

or maybe he's a fan of ee cummings or james joyce or similar and just likes to write that way or maybe he's lazy or maybe he's just a fan of stream of consciousness writing but without asking him it's difficult to know why he does what he does but in any case if you don't call it to his attention he may never realize what he's doing so you might be doing him a favor don't you know

From my research, ATSF 2650 (Zebra stripe paint)  should not have dynamic brakes and should have a steam generator. There are parts available to add the steam generator if you wish. A lot of the problems with these units, mostly cosmetic, were caused by the pandemic which did not allow Scott to go China to keep the manufacturer doing things correctly. The dynamic brake blister does not appear to be removable on the 2-rail units but the roof plates with the fans are removable.

I have six units - 4 ATSF Zebra Stripe, 2 SP Black Widow. They all run very well after some tweaking of the BEMF parameters. Here is a link to a video showing the new units:      New Arrivals
