Swap out Dead PS2 Board with PS3 Board?

Hi All,

We have a club member who fried their UP 844 Engine (20-3044-1) PS2 Board. Background, they put the engine only on the track, and I'm guessing the power was on and it shorted out frying the board.

I tried running it in both DCS and Conventionally and all I got was a hum - the engine did not respond to anything.

So I am upgrading a PS3 Engine (30-20370-1) to ERR and so the PS3 board would be available. Would it be possible to swap out the blown PS2 Board for the PS3 Board? If I was able to, are all the lights/etc plug and play or do I have to replace all the lights?

I tried searching the board and didn't find anything about this (maybe I missed it).

The diesel boards between PS2 & PS3 are very different. You will need to swap all of the lighting to LED as the PS3 diesel board is setup to drive LED lights and not the incandescent bulbs used in PS2. The board connectors between the two are also very different. The best Plug & Play option for the dead PS2 is the PS32 upgrade board from an ASC tech
