Swapping an R-36 shell onto an R-17 chassis.

Hi! I am wondering if it's possible to swap an R-36 shell onto an R-17 (or other Railking Subway) chassis. I have burnt out electronics on one of my R-36 Railking models. I'm scouring eBay to find a working powered car. Can I swap any of the Railking subway model chassis with my R-36 shell? If it's Proto 2.0 or 3.0 I can download the R-36's sounds and replace the Protosounds on whatever Proto 2 or 3 chassis I get, right?

Any help would be appreciated. TIA
