It's Saturday so you know what that means? It's #SwitcherSaturday time!!!!

Lots of us out there love switchers (shifters, docksiders, yard goats, critters, etc.), so lets keep #SwitcherSaturday (a.k.a. SWSAT) rolling!

Last week we had over 40 posts of pictures, comments, and video! Thanks to everyone for making this so much fun!
https://ogrforum.com/t...saturday-2016-jan-09

Today at the Murnane house we have my Lionel 6-18000 Pennsy 0-6-0 B6 Steam Switcher on duty. You've seen this one many times before here on Switcher Saturday but I have to admit I think it is either my favorite switcher or one of my favorites!

I hope everyone everyone enjoys their weekend, if you get a chance, please post some pictures or video of your favorite switchers!

Best...Rich Murnane

p.s. Miss the post on Saturday? NO BIG DEAL, just keep posting pictures of your favorites until the next #SwitcherSaturday

p.s.s. There was a good post this week where someone was asking about buying a switcher, see it here:
https://ogrforum.com/t...-good-steam-switcher

p.s.s. There is another "hollow wood door" thread this week, I know some of you are like me and enjoy small layouts so take a peek here:
https://ogrforum.com/t...door-layout-jan-2016

p.s.s.s. There have been some questions lately based on "what is appropriate for this weekly thread?"
My first suggestion would be to peek back at the previous weekly threads to see what others are posting.
My next thought would be if whatever you want to post is related to switcher engines (a picture, video, comment, or story), post it!
Overall I'd like to keep the "rules" to a minimum, just keep it fun and about switcher engines or similar.

Real World, Prototype, Model/Toy train, whatever? post it.

What an awesome picture Howard, very well done, I love it!!! :-)

Happy Switcher Saturday! My picture is of a Pennsylvania Railroad B6 switcher operating in Camden, New Jersey circa 1950's. Check out that signal bridge. In the distance is ALAN Interlocking which controlled the Pennsylvania Railroad/Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Line trackage in the area.

SW Sat is On! Great start so far guys (as usual).

I  am on my way out the door to Trainfest 8 in Patterson NJ. So I am going to post some quick images of a super powered switcher that has a nice O scale history.

The Indiana Harbor Belt Line's U-3G 0-8-0. There were only ever three of this distinctive switch engine made,  #s 100,101, and 102 and they were all scrapped in 1951. They all had a tender booster to get long trains of cars moving.

Rivarossi of Italy made these in O scale 2 rail out of plastic in the late 1960's and 70's. In the U.S. these were offered as kits through AHM with a separate motorizing kit. I know a few people have three railed them but it is an effort. I am sure that a lot more 3 rail people have this model kept static on a siding because it is a very nicely detailed and usually inexpensive model.

Here is one image of each of the engines. The first one is 100 and 102 coupled nose to nose. You can see the NYC design influence.

Please tell us where is this and what is happening. Thanks-

Its in Boonton NJ, 2015 URHS Transportation Festival. Private equipment/shop only open to public for one day a year.

The lady in the picture was touching up paint on the Erie Switcher. The Green coach on the right is a restoration in progress of a Lackawanna MU Electric Coach. They have an impressive amount of equipment.

Great pictures all!

Howard:   Like I said yesterday, I love that little setup you've got going on.  The picture came out fantastic, it's definitely a keeper.

Mike C:  Are those construction workers ever going to finish that job? :-)
Are those BMWs X5s on that flatcar?  If they are is it a custom car or ?  The reason I ask is because my Dad was a BMW mechanic over 30 years, so I've still got a little thing for them (even though I don't drive one).

CNJ-Bob:  Great pictures and thank you for the info on Lehigh Valley.  I really like that #50 and that #103 as they seem like they'd be pretty small.

MNCW-Tom:  The map is a nice touch!  And the picture, it's great to see these old pictures of switchers actually at work, thank you for posting!

SilverLake-Andy:  That switcher looks like a beast!  I'm still a bit of a newbie so I had never heard of Rivarossi before, so I took a peek on the bay and found that most of their stuff is HO, but there is a little bit of 2rail O stuff available.  Thank you for posting these pics, I'm going to dig a bit more on them.
By-the-way, that video was awesome!  Really fun to watch!  "If she goes up now, he's a goner!"

Steamer-Dave:  WOW, a trip to Ralphie's house???  Man, I am so darn jealous  I can't even tell you, I love that movie!  Great pictures this week (both steamers AND of the visit), so awesome!  I wonder if anyone out there has modeled this house?  I might print out the picture you posted and try to take some pictures of trains in front of it, we'll see how it goes.

DOHERTYNJ:  Great picture and thanks for posting the follow-up info.  I dug around on the site and it looks like it'd be a great place to visit!

RustyKamel:  This scene looks fantastic!  Again, another "keeper" picture, I can close my eyes and imagine I'm sitting alongside with these guys, taking a nip of their shine!

BRWebster-Bruce:  Good job on following up with a picture of the Rivarossi!

TrumpTrain-Patrick:  The Free State Junction Railway switchers look like they are ready for action!  Great picture as usual.  I know you are in Maryland, let me know if you ever want to meet up at a show or other train event.

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.   It's a cold day here so I'm sure I'll be down in the basement tinkering with my trains in one way or another.

Best...Rich

In the Museum, they have props used in the movie, one of the BB guns, clothes, part of the school blackboard, and a lot of the toys that were in Higbee's corner window (no trains though!)no flash pics in the museum, so they aren't that good.

one disappointment was there was no snow (just like when they filmed the movie).
