Happy Switcher Saturday everyone. It is also National Chocolate Chip cookie day, but I thought every day was?
I'm pinch-hitting for our friend Rich Murnane who has some family responsibilities today.
Let's start with the rules as I see them:
We are a bunch of humble, switcher-loving, do-gooders who love all things switcher-related. So, if you have a switcher, have a picture of a switcher or smell like a switcher, post your switcher pictures, here!
Some may have noticed that I love the Pennsy's B6 switchers...here is the historic B6sb #5244, operating under lease to Union Transportation, based in New Egypt, NJ. This locomotive was the last operational PRR steam locomotive, which ended the entire steam program for the railroad in July 1959. Photographed by Aaron Fryer, it is seen here at Hornerstown, NJ. Check out the crooked, painted post on the grade crossing sign. Does anything scream, "rural railroading" more than that?
Let's see those switchers!
