Hi guys just saw American pickers season 16 episode 3. I don't watch the show much and I think this an old episode.They are at a place called the Toy Train Depot.I was amazed at the number of trains there.Just thrown in piles.I wish I were there I could stay for days just cleaning them and putting on shelves I'd die a happy man.Am sort of amazed thou at the two actors.Seems like they don't know enough about trains.

Frank paid $25 for just a scout locomotive, no tender. He didn’t know if it ran and it looked to be in only good condition. The place was in an unbelievable mess and I would guess if someone cleaned it up and inventoried all of the trains, there would be several thousands of dollars worth.

I watched the entire program last night. I’m not that familiar with Pennsylvania but my guess is it was somewhere close to Philadelphia. If you can get a video of the entire episode it did show the front of the Depot and the name of the town was on a sign. The Pickers purchased many more items than shown on the brief segment above.
According to the show, the Pickers were the first people allowed in to look around for many many years.

Wow. I wonder what the shows angle is? Nothing is displayed. No layout. Is the guy a hoarder with some problems in real life? Did the producers want this guys stuff to look like that? Maybe he’s a real seller and the show had him empty his stuff into piles so it looked like that? The short guy (Frank?) bought the two oddest things. That crossing piece had a huge chunk of paint and one bell missing. There were none of the usual back stories like Varney made trains from..... How come these shows never have even a simple set running around?
That is Craig ,& Beth HOLLER of York Pa. They are in the Purple hall at York. They also live just outside of York. They had a GREAT train shop in YORK for years. They were behind the Rutters at route 30 & Pennsylvania Avenue. Another good train shop that was back in the day. Bought a lot of trains there.

A good friend of mine is a front person for the American Pickers, locating places for them to visit in New England. All of the shows are staged. Even the free lance stops are set up ahead of time because when they pull in the driveway there are at least one or maybe two vehicles following them filming as they drive in and filming them going and knocking on the door.
If I remember correctly about the details of the show were talking about the current owner who let the Pickers in was the son of the father that started this business many years ago and had passed away, I think , about 15 years ago. No one in the family was interested in carrying on the business and since that time many other things had been put in the depot for storage with no organization like you might say my garage looks. In any case it was a mess.
