I have an old (apparently "old" is the only kind!) copy of TAS LCS system. It looks like this was a PC-based train control system supported by trackside detectors and other input devices. What happened to TAS? Did the LCS evolve into any current products? What about the detectors and so forth? Is anyone producing their successors?
It's amazing that just 25 years on, a lot of these old products can only be found through "product archeology". By contrast, some products like TMCC, have had a remarkable long run--and are still going strong. Maybe proof that the backing of a historic name like Lionel is really worth something in the long term.
If anyone has any insight into the history of TAS and their LCS system, I'd love to hear your perspective.
