TT&TT: a weekly tribute to the often overlooked destination.

Mainline railroading is great, but all that excitement starts and ends on a little spur track. These vital pieces of real estate can be found in remote rural settings and busy urban environments. Unglamorous, yet essential, Team Tracks and Transload facilities receive and ship an endless variety of railcar types and commodities.

From elaborately detailed museum quality layouts to simple oval of tin plate track with a siding , everyone is welcome to participate in TT&TT.  The intent of this thread is to have fun, inspire one another, and exercise our creative sides.

No matter what finds its way to your spurs,
take some pictures and share them here.

The Valley Mail Train arrived a few hours behind schedule which allowed for some rare daylight viewing of the unloading and sorting process.

A steady increase of e-commerce deliveries has increased the number of USPS cars finding their way to Everett. Rather than clogging up operation at the Team Track & Community Park, the railway reopened the old Everett Team Track.

Pat Donahoe is the Valley's USPS Manager of Customer Expectations. It is his job to help residents understand that packages can occasionally be damaged in the shipping process.

Without his skillful work, folks might unreasonably expect every delivery to arrive on time and undamaged. Mike uses time proven methods to bring awareness to the difficulties faced by the nation's logistic workers.

Home from school, and seeing that his new Lionel swing bridge had arrived in a mangled shipping box, it was time for little Billy to learn one of life's difficult lessons:

"I know it's hard son, but you're seven-years-old now. It's time we had a talk about  managing your expectations."

IT's TT & TT!  That story is quite a chuckle Thomas!  Thanks for launching activity on the team track today!!  RSJB - Love that old crane!

June seems to have my focus on MOW workers as they go about doing summery chores on the Free State Junction Railway.  Today on the Mountain Division at Danlillu Crossing team track, a freshly painted Western Maryland bunk car ( former troop sleeper ) has been spotted along with a Ma&Pa water car carrying drinking water and of course water for showers.  After all,  this is home away from home this week for all these hard working fellas.

There's word of a thunder storm just to the other side of the mountains, and workers scurry to get equipment put away before the down pour of rain begins. IMG_3303

Homer, the welder, does not seem too concerned.  Heck, he might even like getting wet! IMG_3309

Ernie, in blue and standing in the doorway, yells to Bert ... " Make sure that valve is open all the way on the water car!" IMG_3307

Scurry on fellas!  That storm will be here in a New York minute!IMG_3314

Moments before the cloud burst!  IMG_3322

New furniture for the Railway's head office arrived this week via the Everett Team Track. The railway's purchasing agent got a great deal on some new-old-stock.

The team over at the W.B. Mason company, surprised to finally be rid of this old junk, excited about taking on a new customer, included free assembly and install.

Railway employees are super excited abut the new modern look of their work space.
