Hi everyone!  It's TEAM TRACK TUESDAY!  Team tracks are a vital part of railroad operations.  Post your photos of what is being unloaded on your railroad's team track this week.  Photos of real railroad team track operations are also welcome for they inspire us modelers to imitate real life.  Lets inspire one another!!

This week on the Free State Junction Railway's Patsburg team track we have a B&O express refer being loaded with fresh vegetables from a local farm.  We also have a REA express boxcar with a semi trailer backed up to the door with men inside ( not visible ) loading packages onto the boxcar. IMG_1639IMG_1645IMG_1644IMG_1648IMG_1641IMG_1649IMG_1650IMG_1654IMG_1657IMG_1658IMG_1661IMG_1662

Those are great scenes, Patrick. Thanks for sharing them and also for continuing this very enjoyable and instructive thread each week.

The Blissfield Model Railroad Club in Blissfield, MI has recreated a wonderful team track scene. Here we see a forklift at work with box cars spotted on the siding.

Nice photos everyone!

The CNJ local crew is busy once again this week.  This time they are making a bulk cement delivery to the team track.   This carload originated down in the Lehigh Valley cement region, was processed through the CNJ's Allentown Yard and then made its way north to Ashley Yard yesterday on the daily AW-1 manifest freight.

The covered hopper is a Lionel scale PS-2 that was originally decorated for the Pennsy.  I stripped all lettering and re-decorated it for the CNJ using CDS dry transfer decals...and then weathered it, of course.

Thanks Bob!  I really enjoy creating the scenes.  I've wanted to do the produce scene with the B&O express refer for quite some time now.  Thanks for your photo of the Blissfield Model RR Club team track.  I really like the outside braced boxcar and the activity taking place on the loading platform.  Cool looking truck too!

Joe A - all I can see is WOW WOW WOW!!!!!  This car reminds me of the string of covered cement hoppers that were unloaded on the team track about a half mile from my house.  The cement residue that was alway around the roof top doors is modeled perfectly  on your CNJ car!!!  The men on top of the cars add significant life to the scene too ... BRAVO!!!!!

Here is the first photo from my team track diorama. So far the basic elements are in place. I still need to add a lot of details, so please bear with me as this diorama evolves.

"See what the railroad brought us today?"

"yeah, but we need a crane to unload it. We'll have to get after them to install one..."

Mark -  Looks terrific!!!!  I love the unloading/loading dock!!!! Did you build that from scratch?  Very nice track work .... I like that the rails are painted!  You have the perfect pickup truck for this scene too IMHO!! Thanks!!!

Here's a photo of the B&O's off line freight station at Pier 21 on the East River with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. The carfloat was positioned next to the pier and the freight unloaded from the freight cars into the building for final delivery by road vehicle.  The image is from Mr. Philip Goldstein's fabulous website dedicated to New York City's off-line terminals, short line, industrial and military railroads.

Yes, the dock is scratch built with Balsa and Bass strip wood. A really fun project. Lots of details to add, weeds, trash , left over parts and so on.
