hi guys as many know i recently purchased the lionel hot wheels train set back in july

up until now running it has been great and a breeze with no trouble

but i had plans of running it today and when i did the train would constantly short out

i did some troubleshooting and found the problem to be the plug expand play track that is causing the issue

however looking at that piece there doesn't seem to be wire damage so i don't understand the shorting out

has anyone had this happen before with this particular section

for now i guess its 40 x 60 until i can get a new track section

i also seem to have a great deal of trouble packing the track back in the brown box and it may have gotten damaged there

Hi Paigetrain,

The set is designed to operate only the 40 x 70 track and the one engine with the supplied terminal track and power supply.

If you add-in the Fastrack power block Lock-on track, I would use that only. Remove the terminal track from the layout. Connect the separate purchase 4A power transformer to the block power track.

Now you should have enough power to add more track and connect accessories.

If one of the tracks are actually shorting and kicking the transformer off, then something must be broken internally.

Has it been less than a year since your purchase? If yes, it is under warranty with Lionel. Call customer service for a replacement track.

It's actually the plug and play track that comes with the set and I don't see any visible damage to it either
