Is this model SKU 6-25758? Or do you know what year it was made? Not every StationSounds diner manual is available on the LionelSupport website (the Neil Young Texas Special diner with that SKU is one that isn’t) but you can usually find one that has “generic” instructions for a certain generation of these cars.

This one might help you get started: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...s/59357155412501.pdf

Thank you Hancock 52.

Not quite what I needed as my friends question deals with how to program his Cab 2 (as Cab 1, TMCC, or Legacy) and the instructions are for TMCC, predating Legacy.

However, the manual gives excellent examples of how to use the various announcements on a train trip. This is very helpful. Great examples of how to really make running passenger trains a lot of extra fun.

Thank you very much.

From memory, the current version of Legacy (1.60) supports both TMCC and Legacy StationSounds diners - I have certainly operated a TMCC diner with my CAB2. Also going from memory, setting it up in the CAB2 involved (1) setting an engine ID through the normal process described in the manual you have seen, (2) once the ID is set, enter the car in the CAB2 INFO as a "PASSENGER" car with TMCC control and the correct Railsounds version - not Legacy sounds and (3) pressing SET as per normal CAB2 setup instructions.

Page 43 of the current Legacy manual (attached) shows the CAB2 touch screen icons that should then appear - they are in the middle of the page. These essentially mimic the TMCC keystrokes in older manuals. Anyway there is no harm in trying this.
