Does anyone know if a Williams Texas Special E-7 “B” unit would work with a Lionel Legacy Texas Special Legacy E-7 “A” unit?
Sorry, I am more concerned about cosmetically fit, color,etc.

Since Williams doesn't offer command control (Legacy, in your case), you will find this combination will not work unless the "B" unit is an unpowered dummy. Command control requires a fixed voltage (15-18 volts) on the track, and a powered dummy would want to start running like a "bat out of ****" as soon as power was applied while your command engine would be sitting there, resisting that motion, waiting for a command signal.

I'll also add that the Lionel E units are narrower than any other mfg (Williams, MTH, etc.). I'm not sure why they did it, but to me, it does make a difference when the width doesn't match when I try to match up B-units with them.
