The 2014 White House Christmas ornament train

I ordered a set and it is nicely done. The size is about the size of your finger a little smaller than N scale. They both are metal not plastic. Similar construction to the MTH delicate laser cut  metal ornament In 3D form. It comes with a little booklet of the story of president Harding and his relation to trains. Not bad for the price considering you would pay the same for almost any Hallmark ornament.  I'm glad I bought one. 

Same here...Ordered mine yesterday. Going to give the Engine with 2014 on it to my recently arrived Grandson and the passenger car will go on our tree.

Good to know that they are metal, not plated plastic like other Christmas tree ornaments.

Somehow, I'm on The White House Historical Association mailing list and received their catalog this week for the first time. Many wonderful things offered in this 72-page catalog including the ornaments in question. As splendid as many of the items are, I'm resisting all of it.

Ordered mine as well.  Catalog came the other day.  These are gold plated brass..made by ChemArt in Rhode Island.  Chem Art also makes the annual ornament for Danbury Mint...an iconic product since 1975...made similar to the WHHA ornaments.

Mine arrived and its stunning.  For $18.95 this is a steal.  All MADE IN USE.  Out of pressed brass and enameled.  The brass is also plated with 22kt gold.  Makes you wonder what Hallmark is doing with molded plastic ornaments (not even China anymore) Sri Lanka on some...for $19.95.  The detail and drive linkage are impressive.

My mother gets these for my wife every year. They are always very nice. We put them out but not on our tree. The look kind of clashes with my 1956 Pom-Pom aluminum tree from Star Band co. With it's Colortone Roto-Wheel color wheel.

That is impressive and festive.
