Ginny and I want to thank the many members of the OGR Forum who wrote to us today via e-mail and who posted to our thread to replace a boy's train set that was recently stolen. It was our intention to replace the stolen train set and to get some suggestions from Forumites for a Lionchief set. Lo and behold lots of e-mails arrived within hours offering monetary contributions, trains, accessories and some offering to pay for the set.
It it is so heartwarming to have so many friends and generous Forumites who step up and step in at a moment's notice to do something special for kids. The best part of this hobby has always been the people and sharing a love of trains and railroading. I have decided that this Fall we will renew our efforts to bring trains to those children who are in difficult circumstances and for whom the gift of trains is only a dream. I will post here on the Forum asking for contributions of all types for children not in a position to receive Holiday gifts. I'm sure there are many if you out there ready to step up.
